Is Sarah Ann Winston Isaac's Mother?

The Tennessee State Archives microfilm records for Wilson County TN (Roll 194 - Book 1839-1842, pg 96) lists a will for Ann Winston dated 30 November 1838 and recorded 30 November 1840. In it she names as her heirs the heirs of her daughter Martha Huddleston; sons William and Isaac; daughter Anna Brady or Bradley; and daughter Sarah W. Winston. Sarah is also appointed executrix of the will. Witnesses include William C. Winston, Hartwell Patterson and Christopher Roberton.

In the same Will Book on pg 269, a will for Sarah W. Winston dated 21 January 1841 and recorded in November 1841 lists her heirs as her brothers Isaac and William; her niece Lucy Jane Winston; and her brother-in-law William Brooks. Witnesses were Hartwell Patterson, A. W. Huddleston, and John E. Dance.

The Administrators and Executors Settlements (Book 1 1839-1844) contains an entry for Sarah W. Winston. The testrix was, at the time of her death, the executrix of Sarah Ann Winston. She was also her residuary legatee...that estate had not been settled.

The 1820 Census for Wilson County, Tennessee lists an entry for both Isaac and Nancy Winston both age 45+ years. The 1830 Census of Wilson County lists Anne Winston as well as Isaac and William Winston among others. In 1840, Anne is no longer listed but Sarah W. and Isaac are.

A Wilson County deed dated 24 November 1851 (Deed Book Y, pgs 390-91) appears to be a settlement of an estate for Isaac Winston who married Nancy Brandon. The same Isaac named in Ann Winston's will? Nancy Winston, William C. Winston, Isaac N. Winston, Lucy Jane Winston, W. S. Byars, Rachel Byars, Thomas B. Winston and Mary E. Winston sell to Joseph Page 10 acres on Fall Creek.

Was Sarah Ann Winston the mother of the Isaac Winston who married Nancy Brandon? Who was her (Sarah Ann's) husband?

The GENEALOGICAL ABSTRACTS FROM REPORTED DEATHS THE SOUTHWESTERN CHRISTIAN ADVOCATE 1838-1846.JANUARY-JUNE 1846 lists the following:

Page 71 - ISAAC WINSTON born Buckingham Co., Va., Nov. 18, 1773; moved to Tenn., 1806; active Methodist layman; died Wilson Co., Tenn., November 2, 1845.

Page 13 - Mrs. ANN WINSTON died Wilson Co., Tenn., July 14, 1840 aged 93 years "and some months."

Some correspondence from Rodney Veitschegger of Bowling Green, Ky would tend to support this -

I think I have found some interesting information regarding parents of Isaac N. WINSTON who md Nancy BRANDON. I know you have been aware of the Martha WINSTON who md George HUDDLESTON and per will was probably sister to Isaac N. In HUDDLESTON files I have found that Martha WINSTON was daughter of Anne & John WINSTON of Buckingham Co. VA. This area is where some descendants of Anthony WINSTON lived, but I don't have a record of this John WINSTON. Apparently his widow, Anne WINSTON came/went to Wilson Co. TN but don't know if before or after his death. It does say that Martha WINSTON went to Wilson Co. after her husband, George HUDDLESTON, died in 1810 in Buckingham Co. The Sarah Anne WATSON who seemed a possibility, married Anthony WINSTON, the son of Anthony WINSTON & Keziah JONES. I do think there was a close connection between this Anthony and the John (who I think is parent of Isaac N.), but at this point, don't have John placed. I think he died young.
