Would you like to submit details on someone to be included in one of our four WorldConnect databases? Start by filling in our online Family Group Sheet and we'll take it from there. Details on those individuals who may still be living will NOT be published online.

Would you like some help with the design and layout of your genealogy site? I am willing to work with you on setting up the design and layout of your genealogy website. Why? Because I enjoy doing it. See some examples of sites I have helped with. I do this on a volunteer basis so may occasionally have to limit the amount of time I can spend with you. If interested, contact Pat.

Robert Mickey - Civil War Soldier Robert Mickey

Grandson of Peter Gary, Sr. through his daughter Catherine Gary Mickey.

Robert Mickey was born abt 1825  which would have made him abt 37 years old when he fought in the Civil War. According to his pension file, Robert Mickey enlisted in Co. C, 54th PA Infantry (not proven). Drafted. Applied for a veteran's pension as having served in the 54th PA Infantry (1862-65) and said he was wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg, but his claim was denied because no record of such service could be found in any company or regimental records. At the time he says he was drafted, Robert was working near Cameron "digging potatoes." Copies of the various pages from his pension file are pictured below

My thanks to Barry Mickey of Findley, Ohio for providing the information on this family.
