Our Journeys

Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain.

~ Henry David Thoreau ~

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you... while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.

~ John Muir ~

I was working on a new template the other day to add to the collection of free css based layouts I offer and decided to try some of my own photographs for the masthead image. I liked the way this one turned out and decided to keep it for my own use.

For many years, Jim and I traveled all over the west towing our small trailer. We had a fascination with the western landscapes and wandering through the National Parks. I bought my first digital camera in 2002 and enjoyed the freedom of taking as many pictures as I wanted. I knew I could zap the ones that did not come out.

We always kept a journal while we travelled, jotting down thoughts of the day, quotes we may have seen; really just about anything. Some were shared via e-mail with family and friends. Included on these pages are just a few of the entries with a few photographs. As time permits, I'll add some of the photos of other places we have travelled or just ones from our own backyard.

In October 2002, we sold our travel trailer and made a trip to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The trip lasted seven weeks and we visited many of the parks we know and love and a few new ones. The masthead image on this page was one of the photos taken as we approached Arches National Park near Moab Utah.
