Creating a Genealogy CD - A Case Study
Sharing your genealogy research with family and friends can be easy and inexpensive. A genealogy CD can holds vast amounts of data, photographs, scanned images among other things. What information do you want to share? How will you organize it? I had seen a review for Ancestral Author software and thought it was just what I was looking for. It had the ability to create a hyperlinked book in pdf format from a GEDCOM file created by my genealogy program, Personal Ancestral File or PAF for short.
I first tried the program and then purchased it. I found another program called Fast Menu to create the menu.
This is the menu you will see when you insert the CD into the drive. Clicking on a button will take you to that particular selection. Some of the items are in pdf format (the Peter Gary Genealogy Book) and some are html files. Other choice will take you to the Internet. Once you get the hang of it, it is fun and easy. If you are interested in learning how, visit Rod Sullivan's website. If you have questions, I'll be happy to try and answer them. Click on the image for a larger, readable screenshot.
